ABOUT MICHAEL LASSMAN
I Spent Much of My Life Chasing Success.
Eventually, I realized I was searching for something deeper.
THE JOURNEY
Success and Significance Are Not the Same Thing.
By most external measures, life looked successful. Internally, however, I was discovering something very different.
-
Like many people, I believed that achievement would eventually answer life’s deepest questions. A successful career, financial security, professional recognition, and the next milestones always seemed like they would finally bring the fulfillment I was looking for.
-
My professional journey began on Wall Street before leading me into the energy industry, where I spent decades in commercial leadership, business development, and executive management. Along the way, I had the privilege of building businesses, leading teams, negotiating major transactions, and working with extraordinary people throughout the country.
-
My search for meaning eventually became intensely personal. I experienced addiction, failure, broken relationships, deep regret, and the painful realization that many of the things I believed would satisfy me simply couldn’t.
-
Recovery became far more than overcoming alcoholism—it became a journey of rebuilding my life from the inside out. It forced me to confront difficult questions about identity, purpose, faith, and what truly matters.
-
Those experiences changed the direction of my life forever. Today, I write and speak because I believe one of the greatest crises of our time is not a lack of success, but a lack of purpose.
Success may fill your calendar, but only purpose fills your soul.

WHY I WRITE
One of the Greatest Crises of Our Time Is Not a Lack of Success, but a Lack of Purpose.
“Is this all there is?”
Today, I write and speak because I believe one of the greatest crises of our time is not a lack of success, but a lack of purpose.
People everywhere are asking the same questions:
Is this all there is?
Why do I still feel empty?
How do I discover the life I was created to live?
Those questions became the inspiration for everything I write and speak about today.
My hope is simple: that people leave not merely inspired, but transformed. That they stop measuring life only by achievement and begin measuring it by significance. That they discover the unique purpose for which they were created.
